Anyone using Big Game with 165 gr. bullets in 30-06? I am thinking of trying some. I've heard it meters well and I am tired of cutting grains of IMR 4350 with my powder measure. Currently I am using 59.5 grains of IMR 4350 @2825 fps from a 22" barrel. My load manuals differ on where Big Game is on Burn Rate charts. One has it between the 4350's the other has it closer to 4320. What loads are you using?

The burn rate chart on the Ramshot website puts Big Game between H4895 IMR4895 (fast) and H380 Win 760 (slow). Ramshot Hunter is listed between XMR, IMR, H 4350 and RL 19, IMR 4831, H4831.

Now, I don't use Big Game, but I have used Hunter in my 06 and currently use Magnum in my 270. I was pleased with the results in both.

Hunter meters pretty good. I'd say just as good as similar ball such as h380. I haven't tried Big Game. I do have 8lbs of Data 86(supposedly the same as Hunter) that I need to start using.

I don't think you'll have trouble with it in your measure like the 4350 is giving you. Ball and dense flake works well in a measure.

You might try up to 55.0grs with the 165 gr bullets.58.0 with the 150 gr bullets and it will meter real fine out of your measure.Good Luck

Sorry, but nope! DP 86 is not the same as Hunter. DP 86 is an extruded powder that is virtually the same as aa 3100. However DP 85 is a fine ball powder that is suposed to be "Close" to Hunter. Close is the key word here. DP85 is NOT the same as Hunter, it pretty much sucks in everything I have tried it in whereas Hunter shines.

BTW, BigGame is outstanding in my 06 with 150gr and my 7mm-08 with 140gr, great stuff.
