Is Norma brass worth the money?

I use Norma brass quite a bit and like it a lot. For me it is worth the price. It's generally more dimensionally consistent than Winchester or Remington brass. Another thing, I've never had to cull any Norma cases out of a batch. When I've bought a batch of Winchester or Remington brass, I've always had a few pieces that were unusable.

Yeah, I think so. Lapua is probably even better. Both generally last for quite a while. The European companies drill their primer pockets, so there are no burrs to remove inside the primer pocket like those caused by punching out the pocket as the U.S. companies do. The European made brass also seems to be more uniform dimensionally. I just purchased 100 new Winchester cases for my 6mm Rem. When I bevelled the case mouths about every fourth one would chatter because the necks were out of round. Now it's true I can neck size all 100, and I can ream all 100 to get rid of the inner projections, but why should I? Let the manufacturing companies do it at their expense. I'm tired of the expenses, either time or money, being passed on to me. Damnit give me a decent product or I'll go elsewhere. Best wishes.

I got 100 rounds of Norma 7x57 brass for Christmas. It's great stuff. Did not need to be FL resized before I used it. I did adjust all of them to the "trim to" length, but OAL of each piece was very consistent. None were under and most were within a few thousandths.

I also have some old Remington and WW brass that is on anywhere from it's 6th to 12th loading. Some neck splits have begun to show up. I have only 2-3 loadings on the Norma stuff, and no problems so far.

I got a batch of 100 270 WSM Norma casings two weeks ago. I wasn't sure if the price was worth it; $64.00 as opposed to 36.00 for Winchester brass. Last week I sat down and put the brass through a pre load inspection. I always cut uniform primer pockets into my brass and deburr the inside of the flash hole. A quick check of the primer pockets showed a uniformity that I could not believe. I was so skeptical that I ended up measuring all 100 casings. Variation was less than .002. A check inside the case showed there was no flash hole burr that needed to be removed. I'm sold. From now on, I'm spending the extra money for Norma brass.

gentlemen

you have been bitten by the bug. I use Lapua, Norma, RWS and PMP when it's possible. Win and Rem brass is not cheap when you count the time and work you have to do to get them is shape and sort out the dud cases.

Winchester 300 WSM brass is junk! Loose primer pockets from the factory, weight uniformity sucked 14 grains from the lightest to the heaviest, neck thickness had no uniformity either. I bought 200 pieces of 300 WSM Norma brass and it is well worth the money! I know I have will never buy anything else for the WSM, I have enough match prepped 308 brass that I can wear out 2 more 308's before I have to buy any of that, like wise with the 223 but when I do, I will buy Norma or Lapua. My time is worth something to me. It is time the domestic companies get their quality up.

I will agree,...I have measured and weighed Lapua and Norma as well as the domestic stuff,..and the Lapua and Norma are far more consistent.

Everyone wants to support "made in USA",...but the USA needs to get back to making it worth while. These big companies want profits, and sub out work and get labor from poor countries,...and their products suffer. Someone needs to take pride in workmanship,..and worry less about how much "more" profit there is in it for them.
