Someone can tell me why almost all factory ammo made in USA doesn´t have the adverticed velocity ?
I had shot a lot of factory ammo through many chronos , during last years and no company says the truth about velocity.
But also I´d chrono european factory ammo and velocity is always quite near adverticed by the company.

I would like to know why

IMHO quality control has gone out the window in the last four years where manufacturers are racing to fill contracts. Noticeable changes have been gradual: W-W primers are no longer plated, Federal are just unavailable, almost all brass appears to be tumbled in gravel -the list could go on. I'm not saying they make junk, but I'm sure they have lowered the bar a rung or two where rejections are concerned.

never has been accurate. the velocities are usually taken in a pressure gun with a long barrel. the customers gun doesn't have nearly the length barrel

Another thing....
Speer reloading manual #7
7mm Remington mag
175 gs bullet
IMR 4350 61 gs--- 2872 fps

Speer reloading manual #13
7mm Remington mag
175 gs bullet
IMR 4350 56 gs--- 2789 fps

ALMOST SAME VELOCITY WITH 5 grs LESS ??????
Same barrel lenght !!!!!

PLEASE DON´T LIE ANYMORE !!!!!

If you reload a 7 mm Rem mag with 56 gs of IMR 4350 velocity is less than 2700 , and if you don´t beleve me try it.

Raul, they all lie just ask a number cruncher or a politician.
now not all chronos are created equal. the one I have states plus or minus .05%.. accuracy.
what does it really mean. on a perfect day, all aspects being just right.the velocity reading will be accurate. Throw in a few tenths of a grain of powder a slightly heavier bullet say 175.5 or 174.5 set the chrony at 12 feet insted of 10,
my point is its going to be hard to duplicate what the manuels have listed with a $100 chrony, when some one like hodgon probably has severl thousand invested in there equipement.
Its all about the numbers..
What happened to accuracy?
point of iMpact?
safe operating parameters.
HAVING FUN.

My dear friend.
All you said is correct , except that when I told you that I test ammo with 7 different chronos during my life ans in ALL OPPORTUNITIES the result is the same . NEVER factory ammo had the advertised velocity.
My last test was done in a SABRE PROFFESIONAL LAB. EQUIPMENT that belong to our Military plant of reloading. SABRE is one of the main companies in the world that provide these equipments to military and professional companies .So I don´t hesitate that the results are completely correct.
And beleve me almaost all american cartridges manufacturers companies lies-

Also Reloandin manuals as I said before .

I think you'll find Hornady ammo is close to advertised specs.

I won't comment on the others as I've not tested the others at the range!
