One of my ARs likes 27 grains of BL-C(2) with the 50 grain VMax loaded to magazine length and the other likes 27.5 grains with the 50 grain Sierra HP.

Hodgdon list 28 grains as a max load with 50 grain bullets so work up carefully

i used to use in 308 when i loaded for 308. was a bit better than 748 for 168 grain loads in my fn. come to think of it, blc was my 2nd or third best work-up powder in my cz 527 .223 before i came across benchmark.

Hey Kenny, I'd either get a Hodgdon Manual or go to their web site and check out the Min<->Max Load range. Then I'd use the never improved upon Creighton Audette Load Development Method to locate the best Harmonic Nodes.

There is no "Magic Load" that works in all firearms chambered for the same cartridge - way too many variables.

Best of luck to you.

Ditto on Fjold's Post . thumb

26-27.4 grains BLC-2 I've found that my AR's like BLC-2 for almost every weight projectile that an H335 work best for me .

I once had six .223 rifles and every one of them shot the same load....27.5 grains BL(C)-2

That load has killed more prairie dogs than Hillary has told lies!!!!

so far 27 g is my best load seated at 2.270 oal
(about 19 off the lands) getting about 3/4" group at 150 yrds. think i might try some 55 or 60 v-max.
with aa2230c i can get 1/2" groups using 55g fmj so i might try the heavier bullets with that powder too.
thanks for the replys
