I have a Marlin 1895CB with 26" barrel. Does anyone have a load for a 430 grain cast Gas Checked bullet?? Or a load for a Speer 400 grain SJFP bullet. Thanks for your time!!! Senator. The old Elmer Keith load for a 400 grain bullet is 53 gr of IMR 3031. the Speer Manual has this data - buy one. They will last your life time. Hodgdon has data on their web site.

I use 53/3031 with a 400 grainer jacketed; it will kick the snot out of you in a Marlin. For cast, I use a case full of Goex ctg, over 6 grains 5744, which burns out all the fouling.

There's about a gazillion 45-70 loads for jacketed and cast 45-70 loads on AR...a quick way to find then is do a "FIND" search on the Big Bore and Cast Bullet sections and all the powder makers have loads on their sites.
