SmilerJust sent back an order I received yesterday from Midway. I had ordered some small reloading tools and 200 Remington 120 grain Core-lokt bullets. The bullets were in very bad shape with corrosion spots all over them and very bad dents in most. I couldn't believe it! They looked to either be real old or seconds or both and had been hammered with something sharp enough to make deep dents in them. Couldn't believe they would even send them to anyone.

Few months back, I ordered some Frankford plastic ammo boxes, and they sent me ones that were the wrong model/size. Had to send em back. I know how you feel.

They did have the correct boxes to me within a week and a half. I was very satisfied with that part. It was just the trouble of having to send them back that sucked.

I've ordered hundreds of items from Midway over the past few years without one problem.

Suspect the error originated with Remington not inspecting/sorting their product as it goes off the line. You don't really expect Midway ,or any other supplier, to open, inspect, and re-seal every box of bullets do you?

I have been ordering from Midway since they started and had only one problem. An item was damaged in transit and was replaced immediately without any problem. I suspect if you talk to them the same service will be forthcoming for you.

I've ordered a few things from Midway over the past ten years and they've always been good, but what's honking me off now is that they don't seem to sell the 1,000-count box of Israeli Military Industries .224 FMJ bullets anymore. They were cheap: just $35 a box plus the shipping. I'd like to find some inexpensive plinkin' bullets like these. Any ideas anyone?

Midway's track record for me has been perfect -- and that includes many years of ordering. Mistakes do happen, and from what I've heard, their customer service dept. goes the extra mile to make things right.

A few months ago I ordered several Frankford ammo boxes of various sizes. There was one size that was not what I ordered but it was only a couple boxes but I figure I could find a use for them so I just kept them.

Other than that every other time has been perfect.

blob1,
Do you expect a company especially that large in size to never make a mistake or to open every single box of bullets and check them I highly doubt it,

I think in this case, blame Remington, not Midway. I have a perfect track record with Midway with many orders over the years.

SmilerFirst of all to those that asked if I expected Midway to check their orders-you damned right I do! In the first place these bullets were not in a Remington box! Found out they had been taken out of a large bulk box and then poured into plastic boxes before sending to me. I didn't say a damnded thing about how bad midway was or anything like that, just said they needed to check the bullets before sending a bunch of junk out. Some of you people are really something. Always wanting to add to a simple explanation and raise hell with a person who simply explains what happed. Haven't heard a thing from them as yet. But when someone takes bullets out of a bulk box and dumps them into two small plastic boxes, they had better check them. For those raising hell at me for telling of this mistake-I could care less what you think and I don't care how much you have ordered from midway. But if we don't stand up to any one sending junk out then we deserve junk. Oh by the way, just ordered some cases from midway tonight, so settle down and sleep peaceful tonight knowing I haven't gave up on them. Eeker Roll Eyes boohoo

I too have ordered lots from Midway (my wife might say too much) without any problems.

Talk about quality control issues: I bought a box of Barnes X 150 gr .308, and they were actually 180 gr. The box of course was sealed, so it was a factory issue. Had I not noted that before loading a bunch, it could have possibly been real exciting.

Barnes was very interested in the lot number and return of the box (I wonder why) but it took several phone calls, emails, and a letter or two to get a replacement. I was so annoyed I quit buying them, until they came out with TSX, which are great bullets in nearly all my rifles.

ICUdoc:
I had an "incident" with Barnes a number of years ago (early '97) when their .25 caliber, 85 grain X bullet refused to expand in game or test medium when launched at 2900+ fps. The expansion was absolutely zero. (I also tried it from a Ruger rifle at 3100 fps MV with the same results)

Well, the inital phone call got some excitement stirred along with admissions of quality control that had possibly been a little lax for a short while. I sent in the remaining bullets as I has been asked to do. I was promised replacements but told them I was more interested in the result of their testing than anything else. Nonetheless, they insisted that they'd send me 3 replacment boxes, which sounded good to me.

A few more calls and excuses later, and it was suddenly 1998 -- and I realized I still did not get my response (or bullets).

I called again and was told the person I originally spoke with was no longer there but that the matter would be resolved and that I'd have an answer soon.

That was my last conversation with them. I decided to leave well enough alone and not press further as there are more important things in life than bullet performance -- and there were plenty other bullets available that worked well in my XP in .250 Savage and even provided superior accuracy to the "X". To date, I have never received the 3 replacement boxes (actually, I only sent them 2 full and a partial box of maybe 20).

I didn't care so much about the bullets as to the answer of why these bullets suddenly would not expand. But I never got the results on their testing, either.

Blob,
Not raising hell with you. Just a fact of life that mistakes happen especially with a company that size. Just send them back.
I just don't understand because you got one bad order you have to make a public announcement to try and run down what obviously myself as well as a lot of other people on here believe is a great company.

The least you could of done was waited to see how they responded to your complaint, then if they handled it bad I can understand your post but if they handled or do handle it good then I believe your post unneccassary.
