I recently purchsed a couple of boxes of Hornady's Critical Defense loads with the 110 grain FTX bullet. They shoot exceptionally well in my S&W Airweight, so I'm thinking about loading some, as they are a bit pricey from the retailer. Midway has the bullets, I have the dies and now some spent cases, so I need to identify a powder and load to replicate the factory specs, which are 1010 fps at the muzzle, 940 at 50 yards and 883 at 100. Would appreciate any suggestions. Just 38 Special, no +P, please. Thanks! Hodgdon has loads listed for the 110 XTP that are right in your ball park. http://data.hodgdon.com/cartridge_load.asp

craigster: Thanks! I'll take a look at these. Do you have any "pet" loads you like? LTC, USA, RET Benefactor Life Member, NRA Member, SCI & DSC Proud son of Texas A&M, Class of 1969 "A man's reach should exceed his grasp, or what's a heaven for?" Robert Browning
