Hand surgery has me sidelined for a bit. To ke ep from going mad, I've been sorting brass. Once I started, I'm amazed at how much there is. I'm into the thousands of 30-06, 308, 223 brass. plus strange things I'll never use like 224 wthby, and 22 jet. It doesn't eat anything, so no cost to keep, but what do I need it all for either? What would you folks do?

I tell everyone who says they have stocks; etc; Invest in Iron and Lead. And by Iron and Lead, I don't mean iron and lead. And now I will add, Brass.

it sounds like you need a 240 Weatherby rifle, and maybe something in 22 jet to go with it. having a grundle of once fired 0-6 brass is a godsend. if you have that you have the makings for just about everything else below it. I have a die set to make 250 savage cases from 0-6 brass, which means I also have 300 savage brass, 308 brass, 7 mauser brass, 257 Roberts brass etc..

Strange how it accumulates over the years. Even, like you, stuff I don't have a rifle for. Coffee can of 338, sold the blaser years ago. ton of 300Sav. but I still have one of those. about 10 218 bee's don't know anyone with one of those. Keep it.

If nothing else use some of it as trading goods. Lots of trading going on right now for primers, brass, bullets and powder.

No kidding! Buckets full or half full sooner or later get to crowding the room! I know that deal first hand. Hell I even save dead primers. Good reason for that too: Sold a 3# coffee can full for $38 to the scrap dealer a few years ago. Now have another over half full. Hey, it's brass!! 7mags are near to filling a 5 gal bucket. I have one yes, but, there is a limit, right? **I could use 50 more 7mm or 300 RUM, and maybe 40 more .375 H&H cases.** Have enough powder and primers to fill three 4' shelves. Price's keep going up the more it's worth. NOT FOR SALE though! George "Gun Control is NOT about Guns' "It's about Control!!" Join the NRA today!" LM: NRA, DAV, George L. Dwight

Coffee cans, boxes, buckets, bags. I scraped all my old primers, brass when scrap prices were high. Now I am just collecting again.

Started saving fired primer and anvils in 2008 on the chance it may come down to using strike anywhere match tip powder, acetone and dead primers. Waiting for an effective recipe.
