All rifles are different. What works well in either of my .308's may, or may not, work in yours. I suggest you use Winchester cases, they hold the most powder, and start at the starting loads. Then work up in the hottest weather you will use them in. When you get any ejector marks or sticky cases, drop the load a full 5%. Then, I usually go a touch lower for best accuracy.
One nice thing about the .308 is it looses very little velocity as it's barrel lenth decreases. You should be able to get almost 2600 fps. with that rifle/bullet combination. E

audeala, I use 180 Hornady round nose bullets behind 50 grains of IMR 4350 in winchester cases in my 660. I get 2500 fps and good accuracy. Second choice is 44 grains of IMR 4064 with the same bullet at 2480 fps. These loads were developed for close range brush hunting in mind. Both are max loads so be very careful working up to them. Good luck.

A good load for my M600 in 308 Win is:

VARGET @ 46.0
165 Sierra BT
CCI-BR-2 primers (must use with Varget)
Fed GM Brass

Cart overall length 2.80"

180 @ 44.0
150 @ 47.0

Since the barrel is short I've had best results with 165 weight grain bullets, part. the Sierra Gameking BT 165 grain. I have shot caribou on the North Slope in Alaska using this load at 300 to 400 yards in my Model 600 and Elk/deer in Norwood, CO. Excellent load very similar to Federals Prem. factory load.
