Do you know if this powder is actually produced in Argentina, or if it is made somewhere else and distributed under the number A-27?

If it is from one of the world's major manufacturers like Nobel in Europe, ADI of Australia, the St. Marks plant in Florida, or the IMR plant in Canada, then it is likely the spec equivalent of one of their proprietary powders and data for that powder can serve as a guide.

I can't find any reference to an A-27 powder but that doesn't necessarily mean anything. That could be a lot number or anything.....

If you have some, what was it used for? Rifle cartridges, larger rounds such as our .50 BMG or what? If used for rifles, you might find one of the loaded rounds, weigh the powder charge in it, use some discretion and load up some. I repeat, use discretion.

The minimum level of discretion might be not to try the powder at all until finding out more about it. But then, I've never been a particularly discrete person Cool.

I think the Argentines are using either the .223 or the .308 (non-military designations, I know) so IF, and I mean IF I knew for certain that this powder was used for one of those cartridges, I wouldn't hesitate to pull a round, weigh the charge, while checking powder appearances to see if the looked identical (and I know this is not by any means a guarantee but at least it's a start) and load one with a couple of grains less powder and a more or less identical wt bullet. AGAIN, use your head or you might lose it.

Friends:
I load a lot with A27 .
Is a powder which place in burn speed is between 4064 and 3031 depending of the lot .
For example in the 375 HH with a Sierra 250 gr
67.5 grs of A27 , magnum primer , you get a very precise round of 2580-2600 fps.

Thank you all for your warnings.!!ç

A 27 is an Argentinian powder made in a military plant , and intended primarialy for the 7 62 nato. It is usefull also in 5,56 nato ctg. and as Gtrotz said is in between 3031 -4064 , BUT there are big differencen between lot to lot.
So I am planning in use it in 243 , 30 06 .308 and similar ctgs.
