Just curious in general what caliber strikes your fancy to shoot regularly?

Question:
What is your favorite caliber to shoot regularly?

Choices:
.300 Win Mag #1 pet
.308 runs a close 2nd

Pistol: .38 Special - cheap.
Rifle: 6.5 x 55 - relatively cheap, fun, accurate, I hunt with it the most.

I'll second the .223 for similar reasons.

.458 Lott w/ 500 grain. Because I like being pushed back a couple paces.

Ten rounds and I'm ready for something "light" -- like 30-06 or .308 Win.

Handguns I really like a revolver in 38 Spl -- I have a Smith in 38 Spl, NOT .357 Mag. 4" bbl, ported. Someone's IPSC gun. But I hardly ever shoot and not haul out the 44 Mag revolvers. I have a Marlin carbine in 44 Mag. too.

8mm Mauser, I have a couple, mil-surp. Long range at stumps, buckets with iron sights.

AK just because.

Garand for the same reason.

So many guns, so little time . . .

When I get back from shooting -- which usually entails a camping trip and some fly fishing -- The gun cleaning gets set up in the garage and takes a couple days.

A lot comes down to what ammo I have ready to go.

I got a few different calibers I enjoy shooting on a regular basis.

22LR
22WSM
17HMR
7.62x39
7mm Mag

But mainly my rimfire cartridges, cheap to shoot very low to no recoil. I like trying to see how small I can get a group at 25 and 50 yrds with them.

A .22LR always accompanies me to the range. The shooting seizes when I get tired of loading the magazines.

For me, .357 Magnum. Even though I have a SIG .40 S&W for concealed carry and it is enjoyable to shoot, I like the LOUD report and large muzzle flash of my GP100 wheeler.

Too bad you guys can't have .223Rem to shoot. The brass is cheap and widely available...

Hey Jack125, I happen to own a Star PD too. You don't see a lot of them nowadays. A nice little gun, though.

I shoot air rifle more than anything anymore. This is because I have purple martin houses and get a lot of targets in the form of starlings and sparrows. I shoot in my back yard but couldn't with a firearm. I like the 5mm--20 cal best. Firearm--Like my .22 centerfires--.222 and 223

Love shooting 30-06 and 308. Then again I really like a lot of different calibers. But it's the 30's in various forms I shoot the most of. I blame Sierra for selling 500 round boxes of the 168 and 175 SMK.

In rifle, I shoot my 338-06 as often as I can. In handgun, a 45acp always gets a trip to the range when I go.

Actually I shoot more breeze than any gun and don't do much of that. As far as guns go they would have to be the one I use for hunting and this year it will my 357 max, a muzzle loader, and slug gun.

I like shooting the 375 H&H. Obviously, there are tons of cartridges with heaps more power, but for me there is something irresistible about the sound signature and all the rest when I touch 'er off.

Various .22s and my BSA pellet rifle. The pellet rifle I can even shoot in the garage with a pellet trap. Daily practice with these keeps me sharp for my centerfires.
