I loaded some up yesterday starting at 75 gr of imr 4350 up to 79 ,which buckled ther case..Set up my chrony tried the 75 gr under the 260 gr accubond..2860 fps..i tried one more 2854fps..This seems a little bit high for me.i was hoping to see about 2700 not almost 2900.I was going by the load data for the 270 gr bullet. No pressure signs on the case ..Any one else load these up in their 375???

I don't see that as excessive velocity for those light bullets, how were your pressure signs?

However I believe a better choice of powder for the 385 is RL-15 and IMR-4064 (an old standby)...I can get an easy 2850 with either and a 260 gr. Nosler partition and not have the compaction problems your having...

The reloading books show 83 grs. of H4350 at max and about 2850 so IMR should be about 79 or 80 for max I would think...but again compaction is a problem I don't care for...

I did not have compaction problems until 78 gr. I see charges of 4831 in the 84 gr range and I have no idea how they get it in the case and seat the bullet..So 2860 is not too far out of line for the 260..Thanks for the reply Ray

I load them in my 378 WBY. 113 gr of H4831 gives me 3150 fps. Using the 270 Hornady requires 2 more grains to reach the same velocity.

I used 72 grains of IMR 4064, which has always been my "go-to"powder for the .375 H&H. I am getting 2700 FPS. I see no reason why your load would not be a good one, unless you want less recoil.....
