Hi!

What is the correct shell holder for the 7 x 57R? ( or the 6.5 x 57R, 6.5 x 65R, 7 x 65R, .30 Blaser, 8 x 57 IRS, 9.3 x 74R - I am not sure they are all identical? ).

Shell Holder identified by Number from RCBS or LEE, and/or by cases which it is known for ( e.g. "Shell holder for .30-06, for 6.5 x 55, ... )

Thanx in advance, Hermann

For 6.5x57R, 7x57R, 7x65R, 8x57IRS - you need RCBS #26.

For 6.x65R, .30R Blaser, 9.3x74R - RCBS # 4

THANKS, Mike!

I´ll use those Numbers for the die set.

What are the corresponding LEE numbers, as I need LEE numbers for their unique "Case Shell holder and length Gauge".

( or for what cartridges are those two shell holders else? )

Velvetant, could you check please?

I own LEE # 11 for the .44 Mag, just tried:

a fired 7 x 57R case from RWS did not ( not tolerances, it definitely did not ) fit!

# 11 ( I used LEE SH´s for the trimmer and for the Auto Prime ) is too small.

Greetings, Hermann

Thanks again!

Those are the RCBS #´s for the belted Magnum case. Would mean LEE # 5?

I just checked:

yes, the 7 x 57R case is at the rim VERY similar ( in diameter and rim thickness ) to the belted Magnum Case head!

Just as I had some fired cases at hand, I also noted, how similar 7 x 57R and .303 are ...

A Lee #5 will probably be close enough to use - it might be a bit sloppy around the case body, but the rim should hold. Lee specifies the #5 for the .303 as well...

It is the RCBS No. 26 shellholder (or equivalent from other makes), and it works with 6.5X57R, 7X57R, 8X57R, 8X60R, 8X75R, 9.3X74R, and even .405 Winchester, to name a few.....
