hey guy, I have 2 8mm-06's. You can load the Rem 185's using the load data for Nosler 180bt's of .323 dia. Just drop each load by 1/2 to 1 grain. If you want more 8-06 load data for 125 to 220gr .loadbook usa have them . they're available from midwayusa.com. if you want you can email me. see profile for adress. I also use the 185gr rems in my 8mm/300win mag. Dave salute

You can use 30-06 data for a starting point. Because these are all "rebores," you will be just as well off in the end as using my starting load (which was from 30-06 data.) If your rifle is a 98, then you should easily obtain 30-06 performance with the 185gr bullets.

Two observations: first, some 8mm bullets were made for the 8mmRM, which is a hot number. You want to make sure you've got bullets for the 8mmMauser. Second, the worse kick I have ever gotten was from my 8-06. I turned really side ways and got the stock on my shoulder "seam" not pocket. It doggoned near separated by shoulder. Kudude

My 8mm-06 was a Model 98 8mm Mauser and was rechambered not rebored to the present caliber. I had some 150 grain Sierra's kicking around , so I loaded them up with 55 grains of H4895 and got 3024 fps over the chrony. The 185 rem's got 2663 fps with no signs of pressure at all and the primer radius was still very round.I got some loaded 200 grain Sierra's with the rifle but no data with it. The recoil from the 200's was quite a bit heavier and still produced no visible pressure signs and bolt lift was still easy to open. I know that I have some room now to experiment with a little heavier loadings.
