OK so I've cobbled together a bunch of R-P 30-06 cases. a can of accurate 4350 and a box of unknown 150 gr FMJBT. I've found a few posts related to AA4350 and 30-06. Nothing indicating good or bad results. I'm planning on target shooting, I don't think these bullets are well suited to hunting. Primarily I just want to get back into shooting my two favorite caibers, 30-06 and 300 Win Mag. thnaks! DV

I've had great results w/ the 06 and Imr 4350 and 150g. I would think AA 4350 would be similar.

IMO, IMR4350 is THE powder for a 30-06. That said, I've never fired a 150gr bullet through any of the ones I've owned and I've also found that flat based bullets seem to work best for me. Aim for the exit hole

You can use the same data for IMR, H or AA 4350 as long as you are not trying to make it a 300 WinMag. With a 150-165 the choices of powder run from 3031 to 4831. As well as other "numbers like W760, RL 15 and 19. They all work. I happen to like W760 as it meters so much better than 4350 and gives equal performance. (Winchester "invented it" for 180 gr Silvertip loads). Agree on FB bullets unless you're a 600 yard plus target shooter. If you're a "cup and core" man the difference in trajectory on big game to 300 yards between a spitzer and round nose is a non-event and the old (cheap) Remington 180 gr RNSP Core-Lokt is and has been a dependable killer at 06 velocities for decades. (Also shoots well). Off subject but in the 270 with 130s 4350 rules as does 4831 with 150s. JOC was no fool. Can you imagine how much simpler life was when Hi-Vel was "it" ?

Danev, I use AA 4350 in 30-06 with 150 gr c&c bullets all the time. An excellent powder for the application. Hook

You never said what rifle your loading for. If it's an M-1 Garand, any of the 4350s is too slow unless you get an after market compensating gas port plug.

It's an english made bolt action I bought used 10 odd yrs ago. Not an enfield conversion, factory made 30-06. I forget the maker, I haven't had the rifle out of the safe in 5+ yrs. That'll change soon though!! D
