I had a little snafu that I wont go into but the decapping pin on my forster resizing die is bent. Although it is a very small amount I can see the wobble when I screw it into the press. Could this affect the siizing ball and is there any other problems that would require that I replace it.

Thanks

I dont believe it will effect the resizing ball but you may bend it more if you dont straighten it out. You can use a hard flat surface to hold it against then tap the high spot with a hammer just like straightening a nail. This should work till you replace it.

I would want to know what bent it. Military primers are crimped in and often troublesome to remove. Other than that it shouldn't happen unless you allowed the decapping rod to become
loose. You should check your resized loads for concentricity to ensure it isn't bent. Best wishes.

Dont laugh too hard!
I had a primer that was only seated about half way, as a result the case holder from the primer was also stuck. I didn't want to knock it out with a hammer so I put the case along with the case holder from the primer in my press and tried to hold it with my fingers while I carefully pushed the primer out with my resizing die, thus releasing my case holder. WEll I did not hold it straight so the pin bent.
It is barely noticable so I hope it will not matter.

I have the same problem with my .264 decapping pin, took it to the shop, they said it wasn't bent enough to hurt anything. as long as it will still be going through the flash hole and not hitting the brass on the way through it should be fine.

Did I explain that right? make sense?

I'm not sure about Redding pins but spare RCBS decapping pins for my dies are inexpensive and handy to have around. I've bent a few pins myself over the years.
