300 WM (in a savage tactical)

picked up one of those Savage "Tactical" models in 300 WM, slapped a spare Tasco scope on it and ran a few few loads out of the VV 3rd edition book....

This 5 shot group (@100 yds) was 78 grains of VVN165 pushing a Sierra 168g BTHP Match King at 3050 fps. Federal 215 primers and Winchester Brass.

I only shot a couple of sighters and then the group before the scope broke (crosshairs rotated about 45 deg out of true) but I think I'm gonna like this rifle...

I have a 223 tacical that well keep them under 3\8 of a in savage does that very well. Now buy a burris or leupold. you well like it much better.

Looks like the normal group from a Savage tactical!

My 223 shoots in the .200-.400 and that is before and after I rechambered to 223 Ackley improved. Enjoy the accuracy!

PS try a hunting bullet ....ie. Swift scirocco
