Snap Caps for 300 H&H
I would like to practice dry firing my 300 H&H with snap caps. Unfortunately I can not find any in 300 H&H. Could someone tell me a similiar caliber that may work in a 300 H&H.

fired cases work .. if you really want to be safe, cut them off about 1" ahead of the belt.

leave the SPENT primer in .. or put in an eraser . no real need,in a bolt gun, to have snaps, but it works for you

Jeff, thanks for the idea but I am also looking at using the snapcaps to practice reloading a singlshot and dry firing.

Maybe a dummy cartridge is the ticket. (Searched a bit and I see what you mean.) Just mark it darker so's not to do an "uh-oh" and by mistake try to snap a live round.
My A-Zoom for .416 Rigby works fine, but it is WAY lighter than a real round.

Make a dummy round.
1. Resize a case

2. Drill a few holes in the side of the case

3. Fill the primer pocket with Silicone RTV

4. Seat a bullet (crimp if possible)

I've done what Airgun's done - works fine.
