Guys, I have come across 7 boxes of Weatherby ammunition that says 270Win Ultra High Velocity ammunition. Part number is B270W130SX. It is obviously an X bullet but is it standard 270 ammo or is it 270 Weatherby? I was unaware that Weatherby manufactured ammo other than their Weather calibers. Ok, What do I have. I paid 10.00 per box all are new not reloaded. Sprig Rose lipped maidens--light foot lads!!!

If it says 270Win it's almost certainly 270 Winchester. Weatherby calibers are also pretty easily distinguished by their double radius shoulder. The 270 Wby will also have a belt. LWD

Thanks for the info. These are non-belted Shells. I am guessing by double radius shoulder you mean two diferent tapers at the neck. Sorry I am not very technical. Sprig Rose lipped maidens--light foot lads!!!

There are only 3 factory .277 rounds out there to buy. No belt = .270 Win or .270 WSM Either way, you did good. ________________________________________________ Maker of The Frankenstud Sling Keeper Proudly made in the USA Acepting all forms of payment

Guys, What does "Ultra high velocity ammo" mean. Are they juiced up over a typical 270 round. My guess is yes since Weatherby made them. Sprig Rose lipped maidens--light foot lads!!!

Sounds like Weatherby alright. ________________________________________________ Maker of The Frankenstud Sling Keeper Proudly made in the USA Acepting all forms of payment

Roy Weatherby sold his guns and ammo as being able to drop a six-ton T-rex from 500 yards with a .30-caliber bullet. His rounds were truly faster than other stuff out there but we all know what that extra speed does to the throat, don't we?
