I just got a 25-06 and was thinking of using the 100 gr ballistic tip for double duty. What I mean is use it for coyotes, antelope and deer. Anyone have any experience with these on deer. Also what are your favorite loads? Velocity? Accuracy? Thanx

I have a 257 AI, and the 100 gr. NBT works great on deer and antelope.

Hey Pop,

I like the 100 gr BT in the 25/06. Very accurate and they open up very easy. I used to shoot crows at 250-300 yards with them. I did shoot a deer with them once, boy what a mess. So, I can recommend them for varmits (unless you want the pelt) and target shooting.

My favorite load to date is 57.0 grains H4831SC with the 100 gr BT. This provides 3275 fps. I have since switched to the 100 gr Partition for deer hunting and am pleased with the results.

You may want to try 120 grain bullets also and for these I like 56.0 grs of R-22 at 3030 fps. I shoot 120 Hornandy HP with this load.
