In the past I have never been a huge fan of Lee simply because some of their major products seemed a bit cheap and cheerful. However I have used a quite a bit of their smaller items and have been very pleased.

A few weeks back I decided to order a .308 collet die, along with a .308 factory crimp die to see how they worked. I also wanted to try the Lee Powder Scoops as an alternative to a big powder measure in certain circumstances.

I ordered them from a British mail order supplier and nothing came for a couple of weeks. I started chasing the order and was told the wholesaler was out of the items. I actually managed to verify tis was not true and promptly cancelled the order.I actually lost 3 week weeks being pissed about by them.

Out of curiosity I took a look on the Lee web site and as expected found the items quite a biy cheaper than I was going to pay in the UK.

Again out of curiousity more than anything I placed my order on line. That was last a week last Friday..Today my order arrived on my door step; 8 days including a weekend from the States. Not only that, but Lee had only charged me a $5 additional shipping fee for my international order which I think is more than reasonable. This is a refreshing change to the company's like Cabela's who seem to fleece you on interational shipping charges no matter how small the item.

We are always quick to moan about poor customer service, but I would like to thank Lee and I will definately being doing more business with them in the future...

Regards

Pete

I agree Pete Lee has great customer service!

I just got a Lee Classic press from Midwayusa. Man the best $69.00 US I ever spent for reloading gear! Pleanty big for my Nitro Express round too! What I really like about the press is the priming arm that is so simple it's amazing!

Rusty,

I treated myself to a Rock Chuker Supreme a few weeks ago but if I had known more about the Classic and it had been been more available in the UK, I would have certainly bought one of those and saved myself a few in the process. I like the primer catcher arrangement and the third fixing hole... I predict that by next year, this press is going to be *the* single stage press to buy and its really going to hurt RCBS and the others...

I would love to see Lee offer a better beam scale next...

Regards,

Pete

Pete, I'm not a fan of the Lee dies (except the factory crimpers) but I find they have a lot of interesting items - small and beautyful.
You may want to have a closer look at their priming tool (the flying saucer type), the hand press, and the trimmer - excellent stuff!

I ordered the press four month ago, and if my dealer will be unable to deliver within a month, I'll order direct as well.
