Hi guys, I'm new to this forum, so excuse me if this question has been asked before. Have any of you loaded/shot with 130grn scirocco's out of your 260? How good are scirocco's on red deer/whitetail size game? What are they like for accuracy? What are your top load's/powders? What kind of velocity can I expect out of a 24" barrel? What twist rate do they need to stabelize them? All replys wellcome James Johnston

I understand the scirocco II is out and I have no experience with it.....I can't be very positive aboiut the original scirocco because it's accuracy was poor and copper fouling also poor. Terminal performance has been reported as good....but many folks have had equal success with accuracy.....basically poor. I sure hope the Scirocco II is a better bullet.... /////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// "Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy, its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery." I've been looking for some to try in my 6.5X54mm Mannlicher/Schoenauer. So far, none of my suppliers has had them..... "Bitte, trinks du nicht das Wasser. Dahin haben die Kuhen gesheissen."

Sciroccos in a 6.5x54mm Mannlicher? I'd save my money and stick with Norma Oryx or Vulkans as heavy bullets and Hornadays for my 140 grain class loads. The only really premium bullet I've ever found to be worth the price in the 6.5MS is/was the RWS 156 grain H-Mantle, try to find a box of those today! The 6.5mm MS just doesn't have the velocity to let you cash in with those high cost bullets, LLS Mannlicher Collector

James what powders do you have available? I haven't tried the Scirroco yet, but RL19 or H4350 would be my starting point for powder. I am just starting to play w/ VV160 & it also looks promising. I would think you could push the 2900fps mark w/ little trouble. LIFE IS NOT A SPECTATOR'S SPORT!
