I thought so also but......

On the same link, look at the "Nosler Shop" Partition prices for 30 cal 180. They are 2-3 bucks cheaper than the E-tips. Now look at midway for the NP's price add 2 bucks and that is what they will cost you when they hit the streets in numbers.

Go to Hornady and price their bullets also, same deal way more than Midway and others.

I can live with the price but $12 for UPS Ground. I will wait for Midway.

Pop are you going to try them in a 300 RUM?

POP--give em a little crap about why they keep some deals at the nosler store and some at the shooters pro shop. You can get factory 1sts at the proshop as well as blems and combine an order for good frt. BUT, sometimes they don't have the same items at the Shooters store. (They don't show the e-tips there) I remember last fall they had a great deal at Noslers Store on factory 1st solid bases but you couldn't combine em with an order from Shooters proshop. It kept me from putting in a pretty good sized order which I really didn't need anyhow.....maybe I should just thank em and be quiet.

Too bad you couldnt ship to me in Alberta, Canada some 180gr 30 caliber. So I guess I'll have to wait to see if P & D Enterprises in Edmonton gets them in soon. But I really love the way my AB's reloads perform. Just finished tweaking my load for one of my Tikka 3 LS 270WSM with 140gr AB's and Retumbo last nite.

Just curious, why make a bullet thats lead free? What are the advantages to the shooter? Sounds like a sales gimmick to me, kinda like the oil companies that market special motor oils for your four wheel drive....wtf!!

Someday they may be permitted where bullets containing lead are not...until then they seem very much an X-bullet knockoff with a polycarbonate nosecone.

I'm afraid I'll be waiting a bit for the new Barnes TTSX, a nice improvement on the already fantastic TSX!

The Tipped TSX (TTSXâ„¢ ) bullet features a polymer tip extending into a specially engineered nose cavity in the all-copper TSX body. The combination of tip and cavity initiates rapid expansion the instant the bullet strikes game. The streamlined tip also increases the ballistic coefficient of the TTSX bullets for superior long-range performance. This bullet expands reliably over a broad range of velocities.

Some of these bullets will be available near the end of 2007, and will be offered in four different calibers beginning 2008.

Initial Tipped TSX offerings:

Caliber Weight
.270 110-grain
.270 130-grain
7mm 120-grain
7mm 140-grain
.308 130-grain
.308 150-grain
.308 168-grain
.338 210-grain
.338 225-grain

hell yeah!

I love choices!
By the same token I am immensely exited about the possibility of the introduction of the new Northfork with a super pointy tip! Yeah baby a super high BC Northfork!!!!!!!!

Anyway, I get carried away.........I e-mailed Mike Brady a while back and he said that If and only If the experimentals meet 100% of his expectations (accuracy, penetration, expansion and I am sure much more) then he will release them.

Another toy on the market, Heck yeah I am excited!

Compare that to the 30 bucks a box of 20 for the Barnes MRX... It will be interesting to see the price of the Barnes TTSX though...

36 for 50 doesn't sound bad to me....

I am sure you're probably correct in your hypothesis. However I love having choices and new toys. This is what this post is all about.

Hey POP, you Pimp you!

Where can I sign up to get a lifetime supply of Nosler bullets and brass. I hear you got two new Nosler rifles also!!! I think making you get the Nosler tatoos was a bit much....... Big Grin

I can't believe a simple heads up on the board that some of the new E-Tips were finally available would be controversial and start some personal attacks.........go figure?!?

Thanks again for the heads up. I am looking foward to experimenting with the .284's when they hit the market.

Bob

...sure he will Smiler. One thing is for sure is that Mr. Barnes knew more than Nosler who said "you got to have a lead core to perform on big game, the right lead core"All the bullet manufactures are using copper in their bullets either whole or in the shank.I have no reson to want any aother bullet than the TSX including the new one.

Like the guys above say....choices is what I want. I do like the tsx...for the ranges I hunt it's hard to beat. But the tsx isn't always the most accurate bullet in all my guns. And I don't like the poor bc of the tsx compared to the accubond and a plastic tip for the tsx isn't going to solve the fact that the rings at the base slow it down in the air.
And, lastly if you check with the long range hunters like those over at long range hunting they want bullets that will still expand at really long range. They are still using accubonds, A-maxes, and bergers. I doubt we'll ever see barnes try and go after their business. And we'll most likely never see barnes in the winners circle at the long range target matches either. And lastly I'm nota fan of using ANY hollow point or plastic tip bullet here in Wisconsin for our whitetail hunts. Much hunting is done from "ground level" and the odds of bullets going through tall grass and twigs on it's way to the target have most people "liking lead".
