Has anyone used H4831 SSC or IMR 7828 SSC in the 300 win mag? How much additional pwoder did you get in the case. What kind of accuracy, velocity, etc.. did you get. How does it compare with R22? I'm particularly interested in 165 gr loads, but any load data you have would be appreciated.

I just loaded some 80 grains of 7828ssc under 150 nosler partitions last night. (virg rem cases) It didn't seem compressed at all but I couldn't hear anything when I shook the cases.

Fyi if you want a hell of a deal on a great bullet for the 300 wm go to midway and type in "combined 150" and you'll find they are selling boxes of 50 moly coated partition golds for $4.99 a box--wow...that's what I loaded last night....haven't shot em yet.
RE 7828ssc I've been able to load 63 grains in my 30-06 easily under 180 grain hornady neck sized win brass....it's neat stuff and gave exactly the same velocity in my 300 wby as the old 7828 did.

H-4831SC works fine in the 300 win mag.....I've also used RL-22 but it's qhat works for you that counts.

I buy H-4831 SC in 8-pound kegs so try to use it as much as I can.....I also use a lot of H-414 and that too will make your 300 mag sing well.

Thanks Kraky, I've got 200 headed my way. I'm going to tumble some of them and try w/ and w/o moly to see how they do.

Have a Good One,
