Hi Shawn I had a early Ruger 77 7X57 & the only bullets it would shoot at all were 175's & 165 Sierra RN. Because of the VERY loose neck dimensions of this caliber you need very long bullets to help bore alignment. They A.I. won't help this,I had mine rechambered to .280 which removed the loose neck condition by lengthening the chamber creating a new neck, it now shoot consistant 1/2 & 5/8" groups, even an occasinal 3/8". Its now my 1 of my best shooting guns taking 2 moose this year, 1 shot each. AT least thats my experiance hope it helps.

I load 51 grs of IMR 4350 behind a 145 gr bullet. Velocity is about 2900 fps and accuracy is about .75 MOA. NOTE: This load is near max in my rifle!!!
