I've had great results using Rel 33 in my 264 win mag and was wondering if anyone was using it in their 6.5-06 or AI.
I have a 6.5-06AI and have started looking into a hunting load with 130 Nosler AB.
Any info would be appreciated.

I had my own wildcat basically the same as a 6.5 Gibbs. The super slow powders didn't exist at that time. I had fantastic results with 7828 MRP and RL22.

I think the 264 larger case would let you get by with something like RL33. For me in a smaller case I would just look to a slightly faster powder. QL makes RL26 look good as well.

I load for two 6.5-06 Ackleys one in a 1903 Springfield and the other in a 98 Mauser. While I have not tried RL 33, I think it may be too slow in that cartridge with a 130 bullet.

I use RL 22 and 7828 with Hornady 129 gr and Nosler 130 gr bullets. 57gr of 7828 is my favorite.

You can work up loads starting near max for listed 6.5-06 A-Square in most printed and on-line loading manuals. If you want to cross check with QL the closest commercial cartridge is the 6.5x68 Brennecke. It is very similar in size shape and case capacity, with the 6.5-06 having a slight edge.

Recently I have trying to develop a load using IMR Enduron 7977, but it may be best suited for 140 gr bullets because it is close to H1000 in burn rate. Thuso I am going to try using Enduron 4955 that is slightly slower than 4831.
