I have been using BD for .223 for years and really liking it. I would also like to come up with some BD loads for 30/30. Perhaps to use with some Berry bullets or 150 Rem CL.

Thank you,

16.5 BD and Remington 110 RNSP (Carbine bullet) will penetrate a small TN deer in broadside shot from model 336.

It is going 2100 and change from my 14" TC barrel.

Berrey 150 gr. plated bullet. 12.5 gr. Blue Dot, 1750 fps. in a Savage 340, 30-30. Deadly at 100 yds. As you start to go beyond 1800 fps. with the Berrey bullet the accuraccy dramaticly falls off. For small Pacific coastal deer it probably would be just fine to 100 yds. or so. beer

Paul,

my apologies, but I don't one anything chambered in that round...

one gentleman from Texas worked up some loads a while ago on here for the 300 WSM, based on some of the data that I sent to him from the 300 Win Mag and the 30/06...

PM me and I'll be happy to forward those to you, if you want to work up some yourself...

this guy reported really good accuracy with it...

as I have found, short fat cases respond the best to Blue Dot, versus long cases....at least in the flexibility dept...

Seafire, off the subject a bit, but are all your Blue Dot findings available in a single document somewhere?

Thanks
Rob

Naw, they aren't Robin...

Some guys have been suggesting I put it all in a booklet to sell... but there are still other calibers that I haven't done, that I should be part of that sort of project...

however, a booklet costs money... to PM or email me and tell me what you are looking for, and me emailing the info back to you, doesn't cost money... most guys like that price better....

It can get a little spendy doing all of that testing.. I have tested a fair amount of cartridges.. but not as many as it seems others would like info on....

cheers

Do the Berry plated bullets for the 30-30 need to have cases belled or do they reload like a conventional jacketed bullet? Thanks, Bob

I ALWAYS 'bell'a 30/30 case, just a hair.. and I never have any problems.. I use to loose some before I started 'belling' the case with each load...

Long neck resize and load. I found a target and it measured a 10 shot group @ 50 yds. and it measured less than .6" beerroger
