I just got back from the range. Shot some Sierra Game Kings, 180gr. using H1000, Fed. primers, and great results. 3 shot group was about was sub moa.. I know Iam the exception, but I cant seem to wring the accuracy from the RL22. And I have tried!! Great velocity though. And it still shoots about 1" at 100 yds....sakofan...

[quote My rifle is a Sako 75 25 5/8" barrel 1:11 twist I am green with envy at you barrel selection. Folks are talking about L/W barrels in very high regard!! It's not one of Jeff Hicks rigs is it?? HD rifles??..sakofan.. My rifle is my own composition, mounted by a local gunsmith.Barell is "heavy varmint match" type. Right now i am looking for Nosler Accubond/Bal.Tip-loads (180grs). Btw: If i had enough cash i would have bought a Sako TRG 42 in 338LM . That is a rig that kick's like a mule I must admit that i am a Sako-fan too

I've tried IMR4831 & 4350, and RL22 with Fed 215, WLRM, and CCI 250 primers in my M70 classic. Most accurate combination (sub-MOA) in my rifle was a 2960 fps load with IMR 4350 and WLRM primers with bullets seated about 0.0030 off the lands. A dime nicely covered my best 100-yard group of 7 shots (why 7 and not 4 or 6 or 8 I can't recall). Cases were Remington, fire-formed in my rifle. But just about every combination I tried shot pretty darn well and I didn't fiddle with seating length with all of the combinations. Good luck. -WSJ

Quote: I guess you mean 0,03 off the lands. In a good and thight chamber i normally use between 0.5mm -> 2mm depending on the bullet-lenght. What loads and what bullets do you use then ?
