454/45 colt?
i've got a set of rcbs 454 casull carbide die set and i no longer have a 454. i was wondering if i can use these dies for 45 colt

I would guess that you could use the dies for 45 Colt.
My buddy uses 45 Colt dies to load 454 ammo.

i don't know .. but i would GUESS (and i've been wrong before) that they would be too long..

you can load (and crimp) 458 lott with 458 winmag.. but NOT the other way around

My Redding set all indicate that they work for both. This would include the Competion Seater die.

THis. tu2 If they are designed for both, it means they are short enough to crimp the 45colt. If not, you won't be able to crimp.

I had to shorten my Redding 454Casull/45Colt expanderdie to make it work with 45 Colt cases.

My redding 454/45colt dies work just fine with 45 colt cases
