Lead usually presents itself as dark gray colored streaks along the edges of the rifling. Leading at the muzzle end generally indicates the bullet lube is breaking down and is not effective through the entire length of the barrel. Leading at the chamber end indicates the bullet is not fully obturating the bore and you are getting flame cutting of the bullet. I think if you see leading the full length of the bore you have a real problem with soft bullets or you are pushing them too fast. | ||
