Just wondering what powders you use ??

For the 270 gr speers Nick Harvey's book seems to show Win 760 as being good.

IMR 4350 is about 5 grains faster than AR2209 so maybe the charges could beefed up a bit with the AR2209 I don't know.

M98,

what weight bullets do you use and what charge weights of AR2208 are you using.

What type of 9.3x62 do you shoot.

I do wonder if AR2209 may give best results but data seems slim for that powder.

Drop Ray Atkinson a line in regards to the 9.3 he gave me some powders he uses when i was contemplating life with a 9.3.... and let me know what they are and i will see if i can match them with what we have here as there are some powders i can get from mulwex that are not avaliable to the general public here in australia but which are avaliable as hogden powders in the u.s.a
i would use 2208 with the lighter 9.3 loads and 2209 with the 286 gn load but then take into account weather you have a short barreled 9.3 or one with a longer tube
regards daniel

Dan,

I will be using a CZ 550 with 270 gr speers bullets. The barrel is 23.5" long as far as the stats on it go (have not got it yet).

PC,

I'm not in Oz but I'm using Varget in my 9.3 with good results. It comes from somewhere's down yonder. I wish you'd get your darn rifle, I'm tired of hogging all the fun. [Razz]

Dan,

Yeah I will use AR2208 as I have 3/4's of a can of it on hand anyhow.

I was just thinking that if I changed my swede M38 6.5 & the 9.3 to AR2209 I would have neally all my different caliber running on AR2209 but that does not really matter if perfromance is better with AR2208/Varget.

Harvey's loads and the ADI book I imagine would be downloaded to accomadate old mausers ??
