Barnes x bullets in 270?

Barnes x bullets in 270?
I have a 116 savage in 270 and i use 130gr sst with imr 4350 at 55gr.I get less than one'' at 100 yards but i have a box of 130gr barnes x should i start out lower than 55gr of imr 4350 and then work up.Thanks for any help.

I've loaded up some 140 gr TSX for my .270 using H4831SC in 51, 52, and 53 grain increments. Haven't been to the range with them yet though, so I don't know how well they do. I do expect that I'll probably end up using somewhere between 54 and 55 gr though.

Would this be the standard "X", XLC, or Triple Shock?

Regardless, you should start with the minimum PUBLISHED load in a BARNES manual or look at the data published by IMR, or both.
