I have been enjoying shooting my 450/400s with 400gr cast bullets and 60grs Varget, as is listed in Wright's book. The other day, I loaded up some 60gr loads and without thinking it through, used some 460gr paper patched bullets. Is there any data to suggest that this will not be OK in a Ruger No.1? The 400/60 load is a pretty medium load so I am thinking the extra 60grs in bullet weight won't hurt. Also, is there a reason that Varget isn't used to approach full load potential? Looks like 80plus grs could fit in a 450/400 case. | ||
