Without having seen it, first thing I would check is to ensure that it's clean, particularly the balance rest area. Clean with a cotton swab. The other possibility is that the scale is being moved from on temp. to another and the temp. change is causing a change in calibration. I store my RCBS scales in their original boxes and only set them up when in use. They go back in the box as soon as I'm finished loading. I store them in the same area as where I use them. RCBS warrants their products -- ABSOLUTELY and completely. Even if YOU screwed it up, they'll replace it. They want to see how you managed to screw it up, so they can re-engineer the product. ------------------

I can only add to PowderBurns comment it that I permaniently mark where I place my scale. Every time I get ready to load I insure it is on the marked spot and verify the balance. I have used the 505 and have found that dirt in the balance points cause more problems that anything. If you are having this problem, check your balance often while loading. Time is nothing , safety is everything. Steve ------------------

Are you sure an air vent can't hit it? Mine drove me bananas until I figured it out. I could not feel the air move at all. They'll send you free replacement pivot blocks if you ask. Use a dust cover. Don

Good advice from all. I had a RCBS scale with similar problems, it was an older model which is no longer made so I sent it on it's way of E-Bay. I went with a Redding #2 Master Powder & Bullet scale. I've never been dissatisfied since.(www.redding-reloading.com) Redding has a test which they claim the #2 Master scale will outperform any of the competition. So far I have found this to be true. Sinclair Int'l also recommends this scale. They sell it for $53.00 (www.sinclairintl.com) Redding also offers a lifetime warranty. sure-shot

Hmm. Any chance you are building up static? Wipe the whole thing down with a fabric dryer sheet if it does. HTH, Dutch.
