Stoney Point Comparator

Guys, I have lived with variations in my measured Overall Length of my loads, but am thinking of buying a comparator from Sinclair or the Stoney Point model. I am thinking of this so I can reproduce my results which I am having trouble with due to measuring the tip of the bullet to the primer. The Sinclair model is kinda goofy looking but you don't have to clamp it on to your caliber.

Actually, clamping the Stoney Point onto your caliper makes it very convenient to handle. I imagine either one will give good accurate results, but this particular point should come somewhere below the bottom of your list of criteria for choosing between the two.

BTW, whichever one you get, good choice. A comparator is invaluable in getting consistent and accurate seating depths.

Haven't used the Stoney Point, but rather the Davidson from Sinclair. MUCH handier than the Sinclair from Sinclair. I left the Davidson on my caliper, since that's usually all I use my dial caliper for, anyway.

The stoney point is far superior in my opinion, BECAUSE it clamps on the caliper. It is a whole lot more precise than measuring from bottom to point..and saves time..
