VV N-135 is my favorite powder for 75 and 80 grain bullets in this caliber.

Don't bother with 80 grain bullets. A 1-9 twist will NOT stabilize them. Thousands of highpower rifle competitors have proven that beyond any question, so save your money and frustration. You will need a 1-8 or faster for 80 grain bullets. You will need a 1-6.5 or faster for 90 grain bullets.

Hornady 75s are about the heaviest bullets you will be able to get to fly straight. Sierra 77 Match Kings may or may not work.

Hornady 60 gr V-max and 22.5 gr of H335 Fed case Rem 7 1/2 = 2950 fps out of my 223 Savage 110 V
I get .4 - .5" groups .

I also use the Hornady 75 gr A-max out of my AR 1-8 twist
22.5 gr of Varget Fed case Rem 7 1/2 = 2500 fps 2.35" C.O.L.
This is a single load rnd ,will not fit in mag.
It is used for 600 yd DCM or varmiting.
DO NOT load shorter than 2.330"
May not work with all throats .

What HP Shooter said is spot on. I have a 1 in 9 twist on my 223 bolt gun. It will not stabilize anything heavier than the 75 gr. AMax. Since my 1 in 9 shoots the 75 gr. AMax very well, I thought I would go ahead and try the 77 gr. MatchKing to try to get a load that for it that would run at magazine lenght. It shot terrible. When Sierra tells you to use a 1 in 8 twist or faster with the 77 and 80 grain bullets, believe them! Like HP Shooter said, a lot of people have tried and it just won't work. Use the 69 gr. Sierra, and the 75 gr. AMax, you won't be dissapointed.
