There's a good deal on TAC going on at Powder Valley right now. $77.95 for 8 lbs. They're also having a special on Hornady bullets. www.powdervalleyinc.com

Thanks a lot! And just when I was trying to stop stockpiling components.. Bullets are pretty worthless. All they do is hang around waiting to get loaded.

Just a quick note on the TAC powder. I neck sized, and chamfered some new Winchester .223 brass, primed them with CCI-450 primers and loaded 5 rounds each with 26.0, 26.5, 27.0, and 27.5 gr of TAC and seated a Nosler 50 gr Ballistic Tip to an overall length of 2.26". This afternoon, I shot each of the loadings out of my box stock 700SPS Varmint. The velocities ranged for 3344 fps to the max load at 3463 fps. None of the 5 shot groups were larger than an inch at 100 yards and the barrel seemed pretty easy to clean. This is good stuff, particularly with the 50 gr bullets. I am going to grab a couple of kegs. Might as well grab some primers, too. Since they can ship them together under 1 hazmat charge, and primers are in short supply locally. Bullets are pretty worthless. All they do is hang around waiting to get loaded.

Thanks for the info guys. TAC was designed for the 5.56 and heavier bullets (62 - 77 or 80 grains). I use a lot of it. It is about the cleanest double based ball powder that I use.
