I just picked up some 6.5mm 120 gr. Hornady A-Max bullets for my .260 Remingtons. Anyone use these as a hunting bullet, or is this strictly a target bullet?? How do they hold up compared to the SST or Interbond?? I have been loading the 120 gr. Sierra Pro Hunters and have been happy with the performance. How will they compare??

Amax has killed lots of game. Dicey bullet though. If shooting what most would consider to be "long range," you'll be fine with them. Up close, I wouldn't trust them...(under 200 yards). Ted Kennedy's car has killed more people than my guns

It's a target bullet and not a hunting bullet.....pure and simple. That said a lot of deer are killed with them every year.....who knows how many run off suffering from surface wounds. /////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// "Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy, its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery." Nebo I would like to sugest you try the Hornady 129 Spire pt in your 260. Excellent deer bullet. If you want a tougher bullet for larger game give the125 gr Nosler Partion a try.
