RiflemanZ, Be certain you have you case pushed completely into the shell holder when you are seating the bullet. Sometimes this can be a problem. Good-luck...BCB

Hey RiflemanZ, Chamfer the inside of the Case-mouth and deburr the outside.
If you want to go one step farther, wrap a piece of "0000SteelWool" around a 22cal Bore Brush and give it a couple of turns inside the Case-mouth. You don't have to do this step, but it helps eliminate unexplained fliers.
Then put the Primer and Powder in the Case and stick the Case in the Shell Holder. Place the Bullet atop the case and s-l-o-w-l-y raise the Ram(or lower the Handle) until you feel the Bullet contact the Seating Stem. Pat the end of the Handle- lightely and the Bullet should properly align itself and enter the Case-mouth without bending your Case.
I have a buddy who used to "Seat with a Vengance" and he ended up with collapsed Case-mouths and bent Cases.
If your Bullet has a "Flat Base" rather than a Boat Tail, it is probably hanging slightly on the Case-mouth as you are trying to Seat it. The Chamfering, Polishing and Slow Seating should fix it for you.

Hate to ask a silly question, but is the die body down in contact with the shel holder? If so back off a few turns and raise up the seating stem and run a case into the die without a bullet. What happens? The advice to securely place the case into the shell holder is also quite valid.

Pushing the case square into the case holder is very important. I take a lee case de burrer and run it around the inside of the case lightly on every case. Then go slow with each bullet and it should work ok. I know of a case where someone used the wrong holder and the case was sliding away from center causing bent cases. Doing anything rough without thinking doesn't belong in reloading either.

As a precaution I would also take apart your die to be sure it's clean in there. I used to use the Lee wax lube while it worked fine, after sizing a few hundred cases you'd be surprised to see how much lube was left inside the sizing die.

after the case are chamfered, find the longest case in the lot of 20 or 50 brass. Put the case in the shell holder with ram all the way up. Now turn you seating die down onto the longest case of the lot till u feel the crimper touch the mouth of the case. Lock your seating die there. This will take any end play out by holding the case in alignment better with the seating of the bullet.
