Powder and static

I was practicing and also trying out my LEE perfect powder measure tonight. I will wait for my buddy to bring his scale over till I load but I was practicing setting my micrometer and dispensing powder in cases. I have a couple of questions. I am using bullseye powder and 158 lswc. My main concern I have is I noticed that the powder has a tendency to stick to the hopper after I dump it. I have heard that static does this. I would estimate that 30-40 little tiny kernels were left in the hopper. First, if switching to another powder, are those tiny little kernels gonna hurt anything(do I need to wipe good with a rag). Second logic would tell me that the inside of the dump(micrometer) would have little pieces stick to it too. If this is the case how do you get accurate charges if pieces stick to the inside of the mic? How do I prevent it or is it necessary? Cory

CMCalpin,
You can eliminate the "static cling" one of thre ways.
1. Wipe every thing down with a dryer sheet

2. In some hot very soapy water wash all the parts that won't rust and let them air dry

3. take 1 part hot water and mix with 1 part dish soap (liquid). Soak a dish towel in the mix and let it dry - use as you would the dryer sheet in the first example. (its a reusable dryer sheet)

Wipe down the inside and outside of the powder measure completely with a clothes dryer fabric softener sheet.

Excellent advice given so for... just another 2 cents worth:

You can also run a humidifier in your reloading room. The moisture in the air makes a big difference.
