Wondering if anyone uses AA2230 in a 7-30 Waters. Have plenty of extra and was wondering how it compares to IMR 4895

I never tried it, I don't have the 7-30 but have a 7R pistol which is very close. I have tried every powder except 2230 and found 18.4 gr of SR 4759 with the 154 gr Hornady is amazing and for deer with the 120 gr SSP, 34.5 gr of Varget will punch little teeny groups. I have 2230 so if you find a load, I would give it a try. I need a use for the stuff too. I have used a lot of AA powders over the years but was never impressed with the accuracy so the jugs sit in the drawer. They seem to be very cartridge specific.

I bought some a long time ago cause it was cheap. I have a contender with (I think) 14" barrel with the factory muzzle brake. From my notes 34.0 did 2380 with a 120 ballistic tip and 32.0 did 2280. It shot good but this gun seems to shoot almost any combo really good. Not sure where I got my data from in those days but today Quick Load thinks the 34 grain load is a little warm.
