So here is an observation (by just a man) that I have come up with now two rifles. The first being my Tikka 22-250 and using the same same except bullets. I used Varget and 55grn's of each. The second is a Mod 70 243. I used 75grn V-Max and an 80grn BT. Using IMR4350 for both. In both rifles the V-Max grouped better at the middle and opened up as I climbed in velocity and the BT's were open and closed up in size the faster they were pushed. None were showing any signs of pressure. All bullets were seated 0.025 off the lands. All brass is consistant, fire-formed and neck-sized. Anybody else had the same?? ______________________ Smedley ______________________ From Audacity of Hope: 'I will stand with the Muslims should the political winds shift in an ugly direction.' I've had similar results and seem to be using V-Max more often than not.

IMO the V-Max and B-Tips are equivalent bullets.....both excellent and worthy of trying.....no telling which your gun will like best! /////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// "Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy, its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery." Smedley, I have not tried the BT's in my 223 so can't comment there. I did recently load some 55 gr v-max's with varget, but the results I obtained were the opposite of yours. I found that groups ran fairly large at lower to middle velocities and then closed as I approached max. The load I settled for was .5 gr over max, no signs of pressure, and .5" groups
