Does anyone know if there is any truth in the rumour that the now discontinued Lapua 6mm 100gn SP is a re-badged Speer Grand Slam?

If something doesn't make sense it's likely not true. That doesn't make sense.

Yeah, i agree it doesn't make a lot of sense. Doesn't mean it's not true though.

One reference i found on the net tells of a box of the 100gn SP bullets bought as a closeout item from Grafs & the base of the bullets were even stamped GS.

Ah. So, the web poster added two and two and assumed it must equal five? Maybe. I doubt it.

Makes no sence to me either.
A Finish company importing bonded bullets from the US, patriot just to repackage them and send them back to the US and sell them as a standard soft point? bewildered
Sounds like a good way to loose money.

Sako use sierra as their 'gamehead' bullets - I've pulled them to check and they are identical. As the alternative would be RWS (for which you could ship speers back and forth a number of times for the same cost) or Norma it makes sense to use US bullets.

Different things. Sako makes guns, not components.
