I'm about to get a CZ550 in 9.3 x 62. I've been researching bullets, etc.

For starters, I've pretty much settled on the 250 grain Nosler Ballistic Tip (to be used on Whitetails in TX and for practice).

I'm wanting to load up a premium bullet load for heavier game. And I'm wanting to stick to 250 grain bullets.

I've narrowed my choices to: Swift A-frame at $44/box of 50; Barnes-X at $32/box 50; and Northfork Bonded at $44/box of 50.

I'm actually leaning against the X-bullet due to its higher potential for barrel-fouling, but am open to suggestion on any of the 3.

So which is the best "bang for the buck"?

At present I prefer the Norh Forks and will use them for hunting. I'm still experimenting with loads but find Re15 to be very good and will probably stay with it.Some day I may get around to H414 too. I still have to chronograph the loads to see what I'm actually getting though. For just shooting and light game, like most whitetails, the Nosler BT is fine and also what I use for pactice.

tc you may want to have a look at the woodleigh's. I opted for the speers for general vermin destruction but if I hunt proper game I will load woodleigh's. The speers certainly look like a godd projectile and they worked cheaper than anything else here in Oz.

I would love it if Hornady and Sierra bought out 9.3 bullets.

Get any of them as loong as it's got a lead core [Big Grin] . Try Woodleigh it is not bad stuff [Big Grin]

I would goo with Swift 300 grainers for big stuff or a 285 grain nosler

Don't be afraid to try the 250 Barnes X bullets...

My CZ 550 American groups them in less than an inch at 100 yards, and , despite all of the stories I had heard about barrel fouling with X bullets, it cleans up easier than ANY of my other rifles , in which I shoot mostly Noslers...

I don't know if it is the 9.3 x 62s moderate velocity, or the fact that the CZs rifling is especially smooth, or a combination of both factors, but just a few swabs with Sweet's 7.62 and my rifle is clean as a whistle...
