I have a Lyman digital powder dispenser that I purchased last winter and I just bought a new rcbs 505 or 502 scale, I cannot exactly remember. But I have noticed that the Lyman dispenser will weigh out a load of say 71 gr of 7828 that I load in my 300 WM. And I can put it on the rcbs scale after being properly zeroed and it will be a grain or two higher than 71. Have any of you guys noticed any of the same effects from your dispensers? Any dispenser I've ever used must be set with an accurate powder scale. If the dispenser is any good the powder weight will only vary Plus or minus a tenth of a grain or so. roger Old age is a high price to pay for maturity!!! The only way to truly answer this question is to get a set of check weights and find out where the error is. for every hour in front of the computer you should have 3 hours outside

Sort of... When I set the zero on my (balance) scale and then check say the 50 grain setting it is usually off by a few tenths. Going to the 100 grain setting it is off around a half grain. Get a set of check weights and set the weight as close to the actual value you require. Simple measurement theory...the closer to actual usage you calibrate the system, the more accurate your results will be. Good luck! Believe nothing, no matter where you read it, or who said it, unless it agrees with your own reason and your own common sense.

It seems I read on another forum that different brand powder measures are more accurate with different powders. Your powder wasn't one of the ones discussed but alot of others were. I saw it on reloadbench.com. You might check it out. Hope it helps

As stated by previous posters check weights is probably the only way you can do it without second guessing yourself. I came across an interesting artical about the compairison of the 3 major electronic dispencers that seems pretty good. I hope it's ok to link to another website here. http://www.6mmbr.com/powderdispensers01.html
