I use a Herters press. The shell holder I have for 30-06 family cases is a little sloppy holding the cases. Anyone have some Herters shell holders they care to get rid of. I could use three sixes actually---30-06, 300wsm,223. Yes, I know about/use adapters, but would prefer using one piece vs two. Thanks

That sounds too cool even if there are some originals around. I am almost afraid to ask, but do you have a guesstimate of cost? You could pm me on this if you wish. Do you have the tooling for all the different holders I mentioned?

I've had these form tools in my tool box for over 30 years and they've not been used in that time..... To make an estimate I'd ask you to send me your shell holder and then I could estimate a cost to make from that sample. I'd likely make several to offest set up and hope to sell a few more on ebay or something. I've never measured these tools but suspect the -06 size is there and the 222 case size as well. I'm not sure what the WSM cases are like.....are they standard? /////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// "Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy, its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery." Cartridge drawing for .300 WSM here. Post edited so I could credit Steve Ricciardelli of "stevespages.com" for the cartridge drawing as well as all the other resources on his website. Steve, if you read this, I've gotten a LOT of good from your pages and I appreciate the time, effort, money, and experience that goes into providing and maintaining that. Thanks. Vega Tool Company in Boulder Colorado makes Herter shellholders for about $17.00. There are three different Herter shellholder designs, including the common current style. The most common is the old (and interchangeable) Lachmiller style. Rarer is the Bystrom Brothers' MSS threaded style. Regards, Ross

Thanks to all for the info. As cool as making new from the original tooling sounds, I think the Vega Tool connection is what I will do. They also have some other components I could use. Thanks again.
