I have a buddy that wants to shoot his 8mm. He has a supply of 185gr bullets and a lot of 748 to use. If this load doesn't work out will probably try R15 or 4064. Anyone have experience with these. Thanks.

Start at 40 gr and work up. My 8 x 57 will take 44 gr with 185 gr Rem bullets. It works quite well. - Dan

I bougth about 20 1903 Turk Mausers for $50 at big 5 after looking at 40 of them and cleaning the bores.

I sold the #3 best one to a friend for $100.
He is using H380 powder a Sierra bullets and the worst 3 shot group [of many] he gets is 1".

I still have the #1 1903, but the best I ever got was 1.6" 3 shot group with 200 gr Yugo pull bullets and IMR4895 from 35 to 52 gr.
Anything above 50 gr is sticky kick the bolt to open.

I have never got a 1" 5 shot goup in my life, but I have seen it done twice in 50 trips to the range. Once was my friend with a sewer pipe barrel 91/30 Mosin Nagant.

I am beginning to think the powder is not as important as something else I am doing wrong.
