lojack, The max for a jacketed 200 gr. is 5.2grs. don't have a min. for ya, but about 4.0grs. sounds about right. With a lead bullet, it may be .2grs. lower for the max. Jay

Hodgdon lists a 200gr cast LSWC with 4.8gr-5.4gr in their #27 manual. The Hornady bullet I believe is swaged not cast.
I`ve been useing 4.8gr under a Penn 200gr LSWC for a vel of 830fps that is more accurate than I can shoot it in my 5" Kimber. I find Titegroup to be a bit smokey/sooty at lower vel and wont load it below 4.5gr in my gun. There are others though that claim to have no problems in their loads at lower charges. I will say that at every level I`ve tried it, 4.2 - 5.2gr max with a 200gr, it is the most consistant powder I have used. ES is always very low!

A couple of things to consider if you load below the books min;
#1 the load may not have enough umph to work the slide in a autoloader.
#2 make sure the bullet exits the barrel every time! it`s possible to load on the lower edge and have one stick at random. Fireing the next round can be messy.........

Ol` Joe, This is from the swc not the lead swaged load. What I gave him is correct. But as always start low and work up. Actually the swaged had the same data. He's fine with what I gave him. Thanks for checking though.
