The Barnes TSX 300 gr bullet is NOT recommended for
any type of bear hunting.
For the heavier bears, one needs a heavy bonded-core bullet like the 350-400 gr Woodleigh, Swift or Alaska Bullet Works bullets.
The original Barnes 400-500 gr 458 bullets are safer to use. The hollow pt 300 TSX tends to flatten and not penetrate on heavy bear hide, especially with
ice matted in the bear's fur and hide.
