Will a Hornady shell holder work in a RCBS rockchucker press? I have used RCBS since I started reloading so this issue has not come up before. I just cant find RCBS 450NE shell holders anywhere.

Be very careful when changing shell holders.I once adjusted a set of 300 win mag dies with a lyman shell holder. All went well till later when I resized the cases. Fore some reason I used a lee shell holder. When I went shooting I was getting case seperations. When I examined my equiptment I found that my lee shell holder was a tad higher in the ram than the lyman shell holder. This made me push the cases a little more in the die thus backing the shoulder back causing head space. I ruined about 60 cases. Returning to the lyman holder solved everything.

I agree with you, the height of shell holders does differ and that makes a difference in the amount of sizing.

That is one issue with shell holders. Even the same company's shell holder may have a slightly different height over time.
Buy the set of Lee shell holders and any special shell holders you need for unique cartridges and don't allow yourself to mix them up.
